God of War Ascension continues the prequel to the God of War mythology which is packed with thrilling, ultra-violet combact.
God of War Ascension tells the story on how the general of the Spartan army got tricked into slaughtering his wife and child by the god of war Ares, sending Kratos into a spiral of hate and anger that leads to him battling the gods themselves. God of War Ascension takes us right back to where it all began by revealing more about Kratos and the stuff about him that wasn't touched in the other games. God of War Ascension will be coming out on 15 March 2013.
Lead game designer Mark Simon explains that "If you take Kratos back then you're able to do things that haven't been decided before he gets to the first God of War. And that's important to us in telling a story about a conflict and a character that you care about. Kratos is not a one-dimensional character, and I think it's healthier for the franchise that we've done this, rather than pushed forward. I think it's healthier for the character."
It start by Kratos being held captive and tied to pillars by the Blades of Chaos by Mageara, who is one of the three Furies that Kratos must kill to break off his ties to Ares. Kratos will break free and rips Mageara limbs God of War Ascension has amazing graphics and combat with blood and guts spilling all over the place.
The game is a little quicker which will enable you to go from one enemy to another. There is also the addition of 'tether' manoeuvre, which allows Kratos to impale an enemy with the Blades of Chaos and drag them towards himself and the ability to pick up environmental weapons - spears, swords, and shields. One section of the game you will be fighting creatured in a building torn away by Hecatonchires who will be spinning and moving it around.
God of War certainly hasn't lost its eye for the spectacular. In God of War Ascension Kratos has more natural connection to his environment and the bkades of chaos becomes really handy. "As a designer, this is why I love how our story is wound through our adventure," says Simon. "We're not going to one place. We're not going to a couple of places. We're going to a lot of places. We're going on an odyssey." Stay tuned for God of War Ascension walkthrough.
